E&D and work-based learning

How do you embed E&D in apprenticeship programmes when the learner spends most or all of their time in the place of employment? How do you avoid a ‘tick box approach’ to E&D for progress reviews or assessment visits? How can you genuinely and meaningfully raise awareness of E&D with learners and with employers? Did you know that the AoC is running a national event in Birmingham on 28 November that answers these and other questions on E&D and work-based learning?
To achieve outstanding Quality of teaching, learning and assessment, E&D must be integrated fully into the learning experience, including learners on employer-responsive provision, and assessors are expected to show great awareness of equality and diversity. This is a practical and interactive workshop that explores best practice in embedding E&D in WBL. It explains how assessors can genuinely and meaningfully raise awareness of E&D with learners and with employers, rather than taking a tokenistic or ‘tick-box’ approach. It will build capacity to identify and promote outstanding E&D practice in work-based learning programmes.
